How often to update/add content?

Over and over I tell my clients that the main thing they need to do to help me with SEO is to give me new, and updated content for their websites (which is always easier said then done). If it were up to me I'd update a majority of the bigger sites everyday, and all sites every week at least.

How often do you prefer to update, and do you resubmit your sitemaps everytime, or let Google find the new content on its own?

We run four to ten blog posts per day a two to four nice articles per week.

We don't use sitemaps... google does a great job of finding our pages.
