Neighbor mows lawn At night

How do you handle a situation where your neighbor likes to mow his lawn late at night and you have to get up early in the morning. Understand this, your not trying to be confrontational and cause any problems. You and the neighbor are really cordial with each other. How do you tell this person that they are disturbing your sleep?

Also, I understand when someone mows their lawn it may take about 30 minutes tops. But when they are mowing their lawn and it is right next to your window it gets a liitle frustrating. Also, laying there and having to smell grass doesnt help either. Neither one of us is going any where any time sson. Well probaly not for the next 30 years so thats not an option.

I know this is a small problem giving what some people have to put up in their neigh borhood, but hearing some one mow every week is a problem. Since there has been snow on the ground Im sure he had the lawn mower by the door waiting for good weather. This was a problem last year, and I hope its not one this year.

So what do you do?

Ask him if he can switch the night he mows on to coincide with a day you do not have to wake up early. And keep him posted on your work schedule. It is better for the grass to not have burning sun on it right as it is cut, so I see where he is coming from.

Compromise. Or just volunteer to mow his lawn when you do your own.

Be diplomatic about it. Tell him it keeps you awake at night when you have to wake up early for work, and you'd like him to change to ______ night instead so you do not have to worry about being tired for work. Something like that...
