Vacationing in Biloxi

New postby oldman on Fri Apr 18, 2008 3:13 am

Traveling to Biloxi the end of March for a week. Is most of the area rebuilt from Katrina? I could use information on things to do and places to go especially where I can meet people. I will be looking for an enjoyable night life and good seafood.

theres a free shuttle leaving the Barbary Coast at 11pm...it goes to either the Gold Coast or the Orleans...take yer pick but i prefer the Gold Coast...downstairs is 1.99 steak and eggs and it is good food...the owner is a great guy and it seems he sponsors alot of rodeo cowboys and bull riders so sometimes the place is full of cowboys...yup,the owner is a cowboy too and the place has a nice atmosphere to it...the last free shuttle back to the strip leaves at 12pm so eat the steak and eggs and get ready for some action as the night is young. as far as wondering around the place, just a few blocks away from the strip are some nasty folks who might just want to whoop some a$$ so if you came to Vegas to see a fight then you will get a chance to see one up close. theres places just a couple blocks off the strip that the cabdrivers will not go in Vegas. on the other hand the strip is constantly watched and guarded so you can feel relatively safe there...from the end of the Freemont experience to the EL CORTEZ is another fun yet extremely dangerous place to be...but i would recommend walking there anyways, just to check it out for yourself...its worth it...sit down and order the 99cents breakfast and get ready for the usual hard luck stories from the locals ,many people go to Vegas with dreams of making it there...it is the fastest growing city in the USA...4500 new people move into vegas each month...1500 out of those leave soon after arriving and finding out things didnt go as planned...that means 3,000 STAY...and out of those 3,000 many do not fare so well...a saying in Vegas is "it's all about who you know" ...and this is very true...sure helps to have a network of friends there....blah blah blah...now go slap some ho's and have fun
