Why is it a big deal?

Why do most people think that if someone isn't going to school to acheive a degree/further their education, that they somehow aren't "good enough"? Personally I'm only 23, I do work, live on my own and take care of myself, so I don't see why it's such a big deal. I'm young. I wanna have fun and not be tied down. What I do want to eventually do is only going to require me to maybe take a 6 month course at most. I guess to me if someone has a job and takes care of themselves I could care less whether he's a doctor or a cashier for a living. I'm with someone right now so it doesn't really matter because he gets it but I just wondered why it's such a big deal to most people.

your 21 years old you work hard and want to live a little dont worry i did the same things when i was 21. who cares what people say to you there to stocked up in there lifes that there to good for people who did not go to school so dont worry about it in time you will go when you do laugh your ass off like i did. no matter what it takes you do to get your stuff done you will be there one day and happy to
